Audi Maintenance Schedule by Mileage

Every 10,000 Miles or 1 Year

Audi recommends an oil change every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. For short-trip, city-driven, or tuned cars, changing every 5,000–7,500 miles is safer for the turbocharger and timing components. Auto Engineering in Lexington, MA performs Audi-spec synthetic oil service with premium Motul oils.

Services Include:

  • Synthetic oil and filter change
  • Tire pressure inspection
  • Brake inspection
  • Fluid level checks
  • Multi-point vehicle inspection
  • Service interval reset

At Auto Engineering, we use high-quality oils and OEM-quality filters to help protect your Audi’s engine and maximize performance.

As a car enthusiast who likes to do most of the wrenching on his pride and joy, I'm very particular about who I trust to touch my car. When there is a job I don't want to tackle myself, these are the ONLY guys I trust. Everyone here is a car enthusiast and will treat your car like their own. It is apparent immediately even just by the way they maintain their beautiful facility. Emil always does such an amazing job on my F30, and his passion shines through in his work. He always goes above and beyond and makes sure it's fixed right the first time, everytime. Rick & Shaun are always an absolute pleasure to deal with as well. Upfront, honest, fair, professional - exceptional. That's the service you can expect to receive here. Whether it's your pride & joy or just your daily driver, if it's German, this is where you want to go to have it repaired or upgraded. Auto Engineering is absolutely the best in the business.

Most Google reviews seem to fall into two categories: one-star reviews when everything goes wrong, and five-star reviews when everything is perfect from the beginning. But modern cars are complex, and I think the most important test of a repair shop is what happens when a job throws an unexpected curveball afterward. That is why I am giving Auto Engineering a huge five stars that honestly feels like ten. I brought in my 2019 VW Atlas V6 because it had rough idle, occasional misfires, sluggish low-speed response, and generally felt like it was not delivering the power it should. The team inspected the car carefully and found that the intake valves did not have the carbon buildup we initially suspected. Instead, they found significant buildup at the throttle body and cleaned it properly. The difference afterward was immediately noticeable: the Atlas became much more responsive from a stop, smoother, more efficient, and genuinely felt like a different car to drive. Shortly afterward, the check-engine light came on with lean-at-idle and misfire codes. On a complex, higher-mileage European vehicle, occasional follow-up issues can happen even after careful work and this felt like an honest reassembly-related issue rather than anything avoidable or careless. Since I live about an hour away, it could have become frustrating, but I brought the car back first thing in the morning, and they took it seriously right away. Shaun was excellent throughout the process: responsive, clear in his communication, and genuinely focused on getting the issue resolved. The team quickly traced it to an intake gasket leak, replaced it a new one immediately, and did not charge me anything extra. That response is exactly why I would recommend Auto Engineering. They were professional, transparent, knowledgeable, and stood behind their work without making excuses or turning a post-service issue into another bill. Finding a shop you can trust with a higher-mileage German vehicle is not easy, but these guys earned my trust.

Rick and team did a great job servicing my Audi 2017 A4 on multiple occasions (coolant hose, brake pads, oil changes). They are professional, proficient and polite. I used to take my Audi to Herb Chambers Burlington for servicing but they lost my trust when they refused to take ownership for a coolant hose replacement that should have been covered by their service warranty. Not to digress from this review but it is important to share this experience so that others are aware that once your car warranty runs out, going back to the dealership is not worth it. Here is what happened. I had our Audi A4 2017 serviced at Audi Burlington Herb Chambers. For a significant cost they replaced one of the coolant hoses in addition to other work that was done for which I have the documentation and a video in which the mechanic conveyed the problem. A year later, I had an issue with the coolant hose leaking and I took my car back to Herb Chambers Burlington since repairs are covered for two years. I was given a quote of around $2232 because apparently it was a different hose. I called their bluff and forfeited the $250 to Herb Chambers Burlington for doing the coolant leak examination. Instead, I went ahead with Audi Auto engineering to replace the coolant hose for $700. And after Auto Engineering fixed it , I took the old damaged coolant hose and tank back to Audi Burlington and showed it to the service desk guys. 6 months later, my car is driving great. I made a formal complaint with Audi USA and they said talk to the dealer. And then they sent me an email asking me to complete a survey. LOL. Really? Audi Burlington no longer has my trust. I don’t really care about the free coffee, chocolates and the chips that they offer. You have to take ownership for the repairs that you do. Needless to say I was humored when I learned of the jab that the Audi sales guy took at Rick and team. Seriously?

The price was higher than what was verbally agreed during the time of booking. The owner immediately realized there was some discrepancies in the invoice and refunded the difference. I would say since they put efforts to find the issue and resolved it immediately , their customer service is great. I am really pleased with the follow up and willingness to help.

I have been working with Auto Engineering for many years and have always had a positive experience. The Techs take great care of both my Mercedes vehicles. On one service I had at some point dropped a $100 bill in my vehicle and when I picked up the vehicle it was returned to me. Doesn’t get more honest than that.

These guys are absolute pros. Rick and his techs know German cars inside and out. I brought my 2016 AMG GT S in for a unique job, and they were able to get it done successfully and without hesitation. The cherry on top was having a professional detailer on staff. My AMG looked absolutely pristine when I picked it up. Overall, just a great, friendly group of guys who clearly take pride in what they do. If you own a German car, I couldn’t recommend them enough!

I had an outstanding experience with Auto Engineering and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy shop. From my very first inquiry, their communication was excellent. They were responsive, professional, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. After reaching out to several Audi-specialized shops closer to the North Shore that failed to communicate effectively, I decided to make the 30+ minute drive to Lexington—and I don't regret it for a second. Their location is also incredibly convenient, especially with easy access to public transportation, (route 76 bus) which made both drop-off and pick-up simple and stress-free. Shaun and Rick were both outstanding to work with. They took the time to answer my questions, explain the recommended services, and made me feel confident that my vehicle was in good hands. I brought my Audi in for preventive maintenance, including a water pump replacement and walnut blasting carbon cleaning, and the quality of the work was exceptional. There's also a bit of nostalgia for me with this shop. I remember passing Auto Engineering every day during my commute to and from work back in the early 2000s. Here we are 26 years later, and I'm finally utilizing their services. It's great to see they're still providing the same level of professionalism and quality that has earned them such a strong reputation. Thank you to Shaun, Rick, and the entire staff for a fantastic experience. I truly appreciate your professionalism, communication, and quality workmanship. I highly recommend Auto Engineering and will absolutely return for future service.
